Annual Dinner - 25 October 2012
A sell out celebration of renewed optimism
110 guests, dressed in their finery, enjoyed a splendid evening at New Place,Wickham, a stunning 17th century grade 1 listed house designed & remodelled by Sir Edward Lutyens.
On arrival guests were handed a glass of champagne courtesy of our sponsors Investec before sitting down to a delicious 3 course dinner. Diners were welcomed by the current President Robert Sawers who introduced his top table guests representing both other local law societies and local professional groups including Chartered Accountants and Chartered Surveyors.
During the meal, tables were entertained by James Prince, a close up magician who baffled and amazed his audience by moving a prized engagement ring into a pepper pot and producing a signed banknote from a kiwi fruit.
The after dinner speech was provided by Mr Nigel Pascoe QC, Nigel is one of England's leading advocates and has a corresponding career as a versatile and prolific actor and writer. He gave a charming and entertaining speech including amusing anecdotes from his long and varied career.
Guests continued to enjoy the ambience and networking with their fellow professionals until the evening closed at midnight.
The sponsors including Wesleyan for Lawyers, Wessex Searches and Investec are thanked for helping to make the evening such a success
